Resume mistake

A resume is not just a printed document on an A-4 sheet of paper, it is the ticket to
an interview call. So, you better take it seriously.

Here are 6 fatal mistakes that you must avoid while writing your resume.
1. Writing for self-gratification: There's a difference between a resume and a personal diary. Sooner you understand this, better it will be. Write the resume keeping in mind what the recruiter wants to read and not what you want to read.
2. Standard resume for all job applications: If you follow the 'one size fits all' approach, you have already halved your chances. You need to prepare customized resume for each job application keeping in mind the requirements of the role.
3. Writing in detail about your hobbies: Nobody wants to know what you do on weekends. So, don't harp about your hobbies at length. Instead write something that is relevant to the job.
4. Inconsistent formatting: So, you love red and green and blue and all colors. Fine! This doesn't mean your resume has to look like a rainbow. Using different fonts and sizes and colors at different places makes a resume look shoddy. So, keep the formatting consistent and make it look professional.
5. Grammar and spelling errors: Spelling 'career' as 'carrier' could cost you a job interview. While spell-check software on your computer is a big help, it doesn't catch all mistakes. So, get your resume proof read by a senior professional or a language expert.
6. Providing false information: It is one thing to cook up stories and boast in front of your friends and quite another to take that fun to your resume too. Never ever mention false information on your resume. One it is unethical. Two, if you get caught (and you will), recruiters are quick to spread the word and it will doom your chances of getting a job.
So, make your resume the perfect statement of your strengths and get flooded with interview calls
